These routes, times and destinations allowed for travel avoiding morning rush hours, ensuring realistic times for lunch and coffee breaks, and civilized finishing times to give riders and pillions their evenings free to do as they wished. The route was designed to maximise enjoyment of the ride, at the same time as providing destinations where appropriate accommodation was available for Participants.
The actual dates of the ride were organised in accordance with Parliamentary Sitting times.
Where's Rupert?
Riders will be given a sheet of thumbnail pictures of this intrepid little tartan-trousered traveller in various obscure locations around New Zealand.
They have to try to work out where he is, in each picture. The person with the most correct answers gets a bulging bagful of motorcycle goodies.
