Departure on 6th March
On Thursday 6th March the Herceptin Riders left at 10.00am from the forecourt of Wellington's Te Papa museum in Cable Street. Riders assembled from 9.15am and Supporters came down and waved us off, and some rode with us as far as Palmerston North. All were very welcome.
Arrival At the Beehive
On Beehive Day, Wednesday 12th March, we arrived at Parliament at midday, where we were met by MP's who accepted our petition. We were granted permission from The Speaker, Hon Margaret Wilson MP, for ourselves and our support motorcyclists to park within the grounds, and we parked at the foot of the parliamentary steps during the speeches that were given.
All participants and supporters were advised that they had to assemble within the grounds in an orderly manner. All were requested to behave respectfully and peacefully while there, keeping well away from the main steps and not interfering with the access of anyone entering and leaving the building.
